Fuming families have accused penny-pinching council chiefs of making cheap offers for their soon-to-be demolished homes.
Homeowners in the Ferguslie Park area of Paisley claim they’ve been offered around £20,000 less then the market value of their properties.
Renfrewshire Council is bulldozing private and rented properties in Paisley’s north end as part of its regeneration scheme for the Tannahill area.
But some affected families insist the £48,000 they are being offered falls well below their £65,000 valuation and they would struggle to find similar homes in the town even if the full price was met.
Theresa Halliday, 56, who lives in a two-bedroom semi in Tannahill Terrace, revealed she is being forced out of her home and is furious at the offer she has been given.
